CARPENTERS APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

This summer apprenticeship program is designed to be mutually beneficial for students, industry members, and the Carpenters Union (SoCal Local 714 and NorCal Local 217). The first of its kind, students participate annually in this unique 10-week internship experience sponsored by the Construction Management Advisory Council industry partners. Students are provided the opportunity to work on a construction site as a first-period apprentice during their summers. The internship begins with one week of training that includes OSHA 10, fall protection, hand and power tool usage, and an introduction to labor history before students start their field internship. Through this program, participating student interns gain valuable field experience.
